That's it! If you're using an approved stop there's nothing else to do, your tamariki just needs to be at the bus stop a few minutes before the scheduled time.

How the network works

School transport in the Katikati district involves several groups working together. Here's who does what.

Network Committee
The Katikati Transport Network Group is governed by a committee of representatives from each school served by the network. The committee sets the rules for how the network operates and meets regularly to discuss transport matters.
EasyBus — network manager
EasyBus designs the bus routes, manages the contract with Uzabus, handles registrations, and provides day-to-day administration of the network on behalf of the committee.
Uzabus — bus operator
Uzabus provides and maintains the buses and employs the drivers. They are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the bus services, including managing delays, breakdowns, and driver availability.
Schools
Each school has a bus controller who liaises with EasyBus on matters affecting their students. Schools help communicate route changes and transport information to families.
Parents and whanau
Parents are responsible for getting their tamariki to the bus stop on time and ensuring they behave appropriately. Parents should notify EasyBus of any changes to their child's transport needs.
Students
Students are expected to behave appropriately at the bus stop and on the bus at all times. They should follow the driver's instructions and treat the bus and other passengers with respect.

How our routes are designed

The Network Committee has established rules that govern how bus routes are designed and how assistance is provided.

Designing routes

When designing a bus route we consider route timing and the nature of the road. Routes are designed to provide the best possible coverage while keeping travel times reasonable for all students.

Safety

When designing bus routes we always take safety into account. A bus turning point must be available, roads must be suitable for the size of vehicle, and visibility at stops must be adequate.
